CWMA Trainers receive certification to Conduct Gender-Responsive Communication trainings

On November 7th November our training team members; Hedwig Arinaitwe and Edward Tumwine received certificates after participating in a TOT on Gender-Responsive communication by Aga Khan Graduate school of Media and Communication, the training brought together other media and communication.

Over these three intensive days, participants delved into strategies to ensure messaging, reports and trainings are gender inclusive and free from gender bias. This training is part of our ongoing commitment to building capacity of Women in climate action to foster equity in climate and science communication.

As trainers and consultants, the skills acquired will be instrumental in enhancing our training sessions and workshops. By integrating gender-sensitive communication principles, we aim to create a more inclusive learning environment for communities and organizations we work with. This approach aligns seamlessly with our mission to advocate for climate action that considers the unique impacts of environmental challenges on women and marginalized groups.

The training culminated in the launch of the curriculum on Gender Responsive Reporting and communication by the University Dean Nancy Booker.

We’re excited to incorporate these insights into upcoming projects, ensuring our work continues to empower diverse voices and promote climate solutions that resonate across all genders.
